In the early 1970’s, while living in Yuma, Arizona, I met Navajo, Hopi and Zuni Native Americans who created beautiful, traditional jewelry. I became fascinated with their methods, materials and finished pieces. The work of each tribe is distinctive, and each artisan within a tribe crafts his or her pieces with a personal flair while adhering to time honored methods and practices.
Now, about twice a year, I visit “Indian” traders in the Southwest, primarily in Gallup, New Mexico and purchase pieces to re-sell. I believe that it is important to support the cultural craft of these talented silversmiths.
I offer Native American jewelry for sale at selected shows and locations. A few samples are pictured here.
